The Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning – Full Size
The Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II is a family of single-seat, single-engine, all-weather stealth multi-role fighters. The fifth-generation combat aircraft is designed to perform ground-attack and air-superiority missions. It has three main models: the F-35A conventional take-off and landing (CTOL) variant, the F-35B short take-off and vertical-landing (STOVL) variant, and the F-35C carrier-based catapult-assisted take-off but arrested recovery (CATOBAR) variant. The F-35 descends from the Lockheed Martin X-35, the winning design of the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program. It is built by Lockheed and many subcontractors, including Northrop Grumman, Pratt & Whitney, and BAe Systems.
Trident Models Stref-Fan F-35 Indoor EDF Depron Model
The F-35 is designed to use the Stref-Fan 3.7 volt Electric Ducted Fan Unit that makes for an excellent flying model. This is the second Stref-Fan design to be made available as a Kit. The first being the incredibly successful Stref-Fan BAE Hawk. The F-35 uses Tailerons or Elevons giving a wider aerobatic performance envelope than the Stref-Fan Hawk.
- 330mm span
- 470mm length
- Weight 24.5gm dependent upon RC equipment without battery*
- Stref-fan 3 blade fan gives approx. 23gm thrust** direct from high c 1s fully charged LiPo battery.
*The model that weighed 25.5gm used 2 thin coats Tamiya Matt acrylic airbrushed on. Weight does depend many things including the finish, the RC installation & glues used
** Thrust measured directly battery to fan, when there is an ESC or switch between the battery and the Motor in the fan thrust can drop to 17g of Static Thrust. The figure obtained static can be expected to increase in the air.
