Discover the ship HMS Bounty , mockup made of wood from the frigate to the scene of one of the most famous mutiny in history. Captain William Bligh was embarked on a boat with eighteen loyal sailors and accomplished a great feat, navigating more than 3,500 nautical miles for forty-seven days to reach port, with only one of his men losing his life.
In December 1787, the HMS Bounty left England for Tahiti to transport breadfruit to the Caribbean, encountering a great storm that forced them to change course and arrive in Tahiti several months late. This delay forced them to stay on the island for several months until it was again possible to collect the sprouts of the breadfruit tree. In this stay, the crew got used to the customs of the natives and established relationships with women from Tahiti, almost forgetting their status as English sailors. After many difficulties on the part of Bligh to re-impose discipline, they undertook a trip on April 4, 1789, producing the mutiny 24 days later.
