The Mini Bolero is a scaled down version of the popular larger Bolero. This practical sized parkflier is fully built from balsa and ply then covered in iron-on film to produce a strong and durable electric 3D funfly. The low wing loading and large control surfaces allow the Mini Bolero to excel in 3D flight and fast agile manoeuvres. The recommended motor provides 1.5:1 power to weight ratio so hovering and long vertical manoeuvres are a breeze.
Designed in CAD, then produced on jigs with laser cut parts and then covered in high quality iron-on film the Mini Bolero oozes quality that the equivalent size foam model just cannot match. All areas of the design and construction have been studied and optimised for performance and durability. The wings are fully symmetrical and feature a thick custom aerofoil to improve flight characteristics on windy days and a predictable response during slow speed flight. The wings are easy to attach and remove through the large fuselage hatch, but it is small enough to fit in a car fully assembled. The tailplanes are an open structure to reduce weight and the control surfaces themselves are huge and capable of large throws for the ultimate response.
The Mini Bolero is supplied with no electronics allowing you to choose your favourite components. We recommend a 2217-1100Kv brushless motor (Quantum II 400 recommended) with a 30A ESC (Quantum 30A recommended) and a 3S 1300-1800mAh 30C Li-Po (High Energy 3S1P 1300mAh 30C or 3S1P 1800mAh 30C recommended). You will also need four 9 gram digital servos with about 2kg/cm of torque (New Power XLD-09HMB or Quartz P-QZ102 recommended). Then you can use your choice of 2.4GHz radio equipment with a minimum of 4 channels.
The Mini Bolero can be wild in the right hands but that shouldn't scare any novice aerobatic pilots away. Simply reduce the control movements down and the Mini Bolero is docile enough to learn aerobatics and it makes for a great first mid-wing model. The Mini Bolero is predictable, smooth and extremely capable with the ability to progress with you as you become a 3D pro!
